Someone has "jumped" .... in my block.
Not sure if it's one or two person.
Not sure which floor has he/she/they have jumped over.
Not sure if they are Singaporean / China / Or others?
You guys can watch the news and update me.

Anyway, Life is fragile... why?

Advance Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Cute dessert

Today, I went to Botanic garden for tea (YES! no work)
The dessert is soooo cute and unique. I had the brownie with ice cream.... and they came in spoon size. 4 for $9. A bit expensive but tasted good.
Think that is a nice place to chill out... sit next to the nature... GREAT!

I took this picture with my phone and the resolution is bad... I am in need to change a new phone.

War & Inhumanity

Can't believe that I am leaving for Melbourne soon.
Mmm... I hope my friend's friend is ok with me crashing in.
I am abit nervous about it but I think I should be fine.
Also, I haven't decide what I want to do but basically rest and relax.
To chill out and align my goal.

Mmm... after I came back from Cambodia, I was thinking should I go into social work; but doubt I have the patience :P Better stick to my engineering...
Next, do I still want to continue working here?
I like the job but there is a factor that bother me alot.... which I am still thinking if I should move away from there. Haiz...

Oh, when in Phnom Penh; I visited the Tuol Sleng Museum.
OMG, that place was crazy.... I cannot believed that they turned a school into a torturing centre. Thousands of people were tortured there...and prisoners included the children.
When a family member made a "mistake"; they killed the whole family (so call - removed the roots).
So, during the Khmer Rouge; millions of people were killed.

War is cruel but human are the worst. Human created war.....and inhumanity.
That's why I always think my existence in this world might have contribute to another's suffering...
To balance, I need to do more good deeds? Can I? Can you?

Blood stain on the floor.... History is permanent; Evidence is always there.

Torturing room which used to be classroom. The wall hangs a picture of a body on the bed...

Do not waste food

I don't think alot of Singaporean know how lucky we are.
Few weeks back, the paper reported that students spending more & more money. They were not worried about the recession, etc. And yet complaing.... I think should put them there for a week. Think none can even surivve a day.
A trip to Cambodia is definately eye-opening for me.

I seen the poverty and beyond. People live with the basic neccessities of life.
However, the gap between the rich and poor are obvious.
I see kids running around naked, dirty hand and nails, smelly shirt, eating little, living in house that is make of leaves/woods. Some sleep in the streets. They have little knowledge on how to protect themselves.
It's heartbreaking..... I wish I can help a little.

Therefore, even when I was NOT eating well....I dare not complain....but eventually, I got sick.
I have no complain.... except for a lesson for me to get my body back in shape fast.
And please do not waste food. If you cannot finish so much food, then don't order so much!
Sometime that I will have to learn too.

Here are some of my favourite photos:
More pictures are in the facebook....Let me know what you think.

How can I fall sick

I had got either gastic flu or food poisoning.
Has been to the toilet for >4x and throw up for >5x.

My room mate was very nice in trying to get me to take her medi, but sometime; i just want to have some rest.
Beside, I usually like to let my body recover by its own whenever it's possible.
Anyway, tomorrow I am heading back... hopefully things will be fine for me.

Nevertherless, I visited the street kids centre today. Always good to see the kids laughter and you couldn't imagine that behind those smile... there is a sad story...
Tell you more when I get back.

1st time in Phnom Penh

Trip has been OK so far, except that I did NOT visit any night spots.
None of the members are interested in night activities. I guess I can head out alone?
However, I was told that Phnom Penh is not one of the city where alone is ok.

Anyway, at least I have visited the village and school.
Tomorrow will be the day where I meet the sponsed kid.... and I have just bought a 5kg rice.
Not sure if that is ok since the family are farmer...

Mmmm... looking forward for tomorrow.
Oh, here is an hour behind singapore :)

Another singapore night hangout

I had visited the Marina Barrage and it was a nice place.
Since it's a new spot, it was pretty packed even thought it was 1030pm then.
Singapore is going through a majar face lift. Everywhere nearby is under construction...
Are we going to look like Vegas - The strip?

Maybe I will visit there again during the day. I
t will be a different experience and hopefully that it will not be too packed.

Also, I like the idea of places such as Marina Barrage, but for casino? I am not sure.

We made them dance... wow... they really have a talent in that (with the sexy move) ;-)
Anyway, I had an really interesting cake today - lychee martini cake!
Have you tried before? Pretty good!

Found "lost IC"

HOMBRE!!!!!
Today, I found the "lost" IC which I always thought that I have "throw" it away accidentally - 2 years ago!
Oh, the flip side is that I had paid $100 for the replacement...
Now, the title of "Sotong Queen" - has to be me.

Cambodia night activities?

Few days ago, I went for a briefing regarding the cambodia trip.
Err, the itinerary looks ok... Day is pack with activities such as visiting the schools, street kids centre, etc.
But all activities will end before 6pm. Man, what about the night activities.
I definately enjoy going to the centres but need some night sight-seeing too!
Not sure if it is safe for a "pretty" lady walking down the street during the night.
I will find out soon :)
ONE more week to go!!!

Oh, if you know of any night activities in Phnom Penh, please let me know... thanks
