Destroyer

What have I done?
Yes, that's the curtain + frame.

Recently, I am in a shopping mood again (yes, I am buying "luxury" things now because I hold a job now, and I know I cannot afford that once I am jobless *soon*). Ok, I am very keen in buying a ring but on second thought, I think it is better hold it till later since I have a HUGE ticket to pay.
In the mean time, I came across a little survey about Singapore women and diamond.
1. Most of them who wears their diamonds regularly are those with diamond ring size between 0.65ct to 1.2ct.
2. those with engagement ring above 1.5ct, they do not wear it regularly as they found it too big and flashy. And also partly scare that they may misplace it. They prefer to keep it in their jewellery box and wear only on occasions.
3. Most whose diamond is below 0.5ct, they do not wear it regularly as they say they paiseh to wear out and scare people ask if that is their engagement ring, to save face for their husband. (yah i know, its sad but true, some gals are still materialistic, but at least they still said 'yes' which is more impt. )

I guess the answer when other asks about the ring - one can proudly say "I bought it"! :)

I know some friend may say "Steph, you can live without those materialistic items". Yes, I can; but I know once I force myself to give up... it will also mean I will need to let go of something/someone/anything.
It is different stages in my life. Not sure if I can compare to the times where I enjoyed party so much that almost nothing can stop me.... until the moment when I feel "Ok, that's enough alcohol, stop/less parties".

The monster in me is hibernating, don't wake her up.
Don't worry, I am the good Steph most of the time. haha..now, buy or don't buy?

Unavoidable luck

Yesterday, I had quite a day –
1.Morning starts with my water bottle leaked in the bag.
As the bag was sort of "water proof" material, it turned into a swimming pool for my belongings (content include some official documents and camera).
So, I spent the next 20mins trying to clean the disaster in the MRT station toilet - which mean I have to endure the smelly place.

2.Missed the train and bus, so I got to spend 8 bucks on a 5min taxi ride (crazy surcharge). Late for meeting.

3.After work, it starts to pour at the precise moment when I stepped out of office.
For the initial moment, I was glad that I have an umbrella, but not when it broke when I tried to “open” it. Rain becomes my closest buddy then

4.Episode not over yet - sent my watch for repair again (last repair was 9mths ago) but was rudely told that I need to pay for it.

5. Was hoping that I can relax when heading for the facial.
Painful extraction and walked out with a swollen disfigure face!

6.Need to pay some "last min" bills but the nearest SAM machine was down, so I walked a distance to the next one; and within my expectation: something else happen – my bank limit has prevent me from paying. DAMN!

7.Finally, Home sweet home but to my horror…. My camera is spoil. ARGHHH…

Sleep!!! Day over

Nature disaster

Let's all pray for Japan!
Nature is beautiful but nature disaster is destroying. Is it all about “cycle” or “chain effect”?
Does nature/earth has a life span? Have you heard of Maya calendar that predicts 2012 apocalypse? Do you believe in it? If so, 2012 is just nearby.
No matter when it is, we still need to enjoy life, be truthful, be considerate, be love, be happy, be grateful… be ourselves till the day we die.

Seeing what happen in this world, I guess it is good to get ready (sub-consciously) that we might lose someone we love. I hope my family will move on even when I’m gone (never know when will I meet with accident or ganna terminal illness)

Ok, enough of the heavy stuff. Haha…I bought a new bag today, but just recalled that some time back, I have sworn not to get anymore of the Esprit bags. Looks like I cannot resist temptation vs. usability. This is a very simple causal bag, so I hope it will at least last for a while .Gosh, I am addicted in buying big bags!

Make them a Eunuch!

Crazy law, crazy ruling.
Child molester got "light" sentence over raping a toddler!!!
Reason from the judge - Because the victim (who is a child) did not resist, did not say no.
WTF!!!!

TV show that can cause divorce

Taiwan TV program... really talk about everything - food, people, airport, road, government, spirial related, etc.

Today I was watching a program - they invited 4 celebrity couple and made the hubby to bring a gift to wife.

First couple, the husband gave a Chanel latest design handbag. (Wow... the other wives watched with envy, but probably the rest of the husband will think he has “spoiled market”).

Second couple, the wife received a fire distinguisher. Gosh, why in the earth would you give your wife a fire distinguisher? What is the guy thinking?

Third couple, NT300,000 sliming centre vouchers! The wife was so pissed that she tore the vouchers on the spot; as she felt so humiliated!!! While the husband explained that his wife had been complaining about her figure and, that is why he got those. Ended up – they fight and argue in the show over this “sensitive” gift.
NT300,000 leh!! Why tears it? At least refund for money mah

Last couple, the mystery gift was “table cloth”.

This show taught me a few things
1. Guy can be so insensitive
2. Why will people fight in live tv show? If you cannot take it then don’t go on show
3. Woman are materialistic after all

Fogging

Been a hectic day as I actually woke up at 7am on a Saturday morning (with only 5 hrs sleep). And, all was just to do house “fogging”. Basically, I bought 4 cans of fogger to fog the apartment. Why? Because we found ticks on Racer, so we need to “kill” those that might be already in the house.
I think Racer is thrilled about the whole incident as he got get to “go out”. We brought him to the Botanic garden for a whopper 3 full hours in the morning. Result? He “knocked” out since 3pm, ignoring all family members that came home. Zzzzz….all the way. Wondering if he’s planning to have dinner.
On the other hand, I pity myself as I have to clean, vacumm, mop the house… not forgetting to mention that I have to bath Racer as well. Now, my body is aching. :-(

Oh, I had an interesting observation today: Coffee shop aunties (note it’s in plural) are collecting the empty aluminum can. Is aluminum fetching good price now? It’s kind of annoying especially when they kept asking if you have finish your drink.

Thief in toilet?

Today, I was at IMM....err... and I saw an interesting warning label in the ladies toilet (yes, inside the cubicle).
How can one steals from the next cubicle? How skillful is the thief? wow....

This "little sign" triggers me to think... how bad does it feel when one betrays you? When one breaks your trust? Also, how will the betrayer feels?

Some may say - depend how bad the "betray" is ....
To me? A betray is a betray... the victim is likely to feel bad/sad for forever/long time. While, the betrayer will feel guilty. So why make things so difficult?

Some may say - a betray to you might not mean the same to others. I guess it depend on the moral value of that person's mind.

How does one defines the moral of human being? How you tell the difference between right and wrong?
To me? You just know it. Guilt is there when you betray... no matter what. Just that some people can live with the guilt while some cannot. Some will try to redeem via doing good deeds... Also, sadness is there when you have been betray (especially by someone that you trust)... and the recovery is not any easy at all.

My thought is that being able to acknowledge the guilt, apologize for the action and learn from it; are very important. The "victim" will have to acknowlegdt the betray, standup and move on.
What are your thoughts?

Teach you how to pee

I was researching about the upcoming trip to osaka, kyoto and nara.
I come across an interesting articule.... how to use the use the toilet in Japan; which teaches you how to pee using the squat type....

Here's the details for those who don't know...
There are two kinds of toilets in Japan:
1. the traditional Japanese-style toilet (or 'squat toilet') and
2. the Western-style toilet.

Public washrooms have Japanese-style toilets although in many tourist areas you may find at least one Western-style toilet. In public washrooms toilet paper is uncommon so please remember to always carry tissue paper everywhere you go (there are tissue paper vending machines located outside of the public washrooms).
If you want to only use a Western-style toilet then it is best to use the toilets in department stores or in hotel lobbies.

However, if you have to use a Japanese-style toilet here are some basic tips:
1. Face the hood of the toilet
2. Pull down your pants completely below your knees
3. Squat down as closely to the hood as possible. If the toilet is elevated (such toilets are usually found on trains), you need to stand on a raised platform while squatting
There is usually a small bar to hold on to if you have trouble keeping your balance while squatting

And then just "release"...

Contolling partner.

I realized woman really like to control men or is it men who loves being control by women? Which is your case or preference?
A few examples:
1. I was having dinner with an ex-colleague and the wife called every 30min. I think she is very concern and worried about the hubby. Loving?
2. This morning, I went buying breakfast; and there was a couple is in front of me. The wife ordered her share 1st, followed by the husband… Very interesting “sight” and learning. I seriously think the wife is trying to be “nice” by asking the hubby what he wants. However, every single dish he picked; the wife will “Are you sure you want that, how about this instead”. I can’t help it but keep laughing. For goodness, why ask him when you already decided and intend to over rule his decision. Still, they are married so I guess that is the way they show love to each other.
3. I was in town recently; and saw a numerous of well-dressed and manly guys sling on their partner’s tiny handbags. PLEASE… how heavy can the tiny bag be? To show off that you care about the girls? A well dress man with a sissy bag. Gosh!!!

Nevertheless, I still admire guys that open the door for ladies… Ok, you might think that the door might not be heavy but there are some, which ARE heavy. I encountered a few occasion where I have problem pulling the door yet that “nerd” just stand there. Arghh….
