Penang white curry noodles

This instant noodles seem to create a storm recently.
We saw this was on "offer" in Giant - 2 for $7.90. Each bag contains 4 individual packs noodles.
It is so much expensive than normal maggi but probably worth a try.

Verdict: gravy is thick, probably due to the non dairy cream powder (coconut).
It's spicy, thick and fragrant. Not bad la.

Gone case with cupcake

This is my x attempts with cupcake.
Another failure!!!

Paid bucks to learn trick from the baking class but it turns out to be another failure.
The class was badly organise with lack of equipment and instruction.
Times where we mistaken baking soda as flour and salt as sugar.
No labelling on containers! Sucks :(

Bak kut teh @ bugis

I used to visit a bak kut teh stall @ bugis after work.
And, that was like 15 yrs ago ?
After, it moved and I never know where it relocated to ...

Finally, we found it @ rocher centre.
Maybe it is due to my much awaited anticipation, I was very disappointed with the dish.
The meat was totally tasteless, it is not the same bak kut teh I had ..
Or is it because I used to had it with a group of fun loving colleagues.. And everything tasted fantastic then ??

I probably will not visit the stall anymore and here's my food wastage :(

Homemade Tiramisu

My first attempt of Tiramisu with Mr's help.
Actually, it was pretty easy to make them.
Best part is that you can as much liquor as you desired...

Here's the steps:

1. Make a cup of coffee and add liquor (as desired).
2. 1 egg - separate the yolk and white

3. Add ~50g of sugar into the egg yolk

4. Beat till sugar is dissolve

5. Add some salt to the egg white
6. Beat till the egg white till it hold firmly

7. Need ~250g of Mascarpone cheese.

8. Beat again - the cheese and egg yolk mixture

9. Add the egg white mixture into 8. Start with half portion of egg white.

10. Here's the creamy...

11. You can get the lady fingers in Cold Storage

12. Dip the lady finger into the coffee/liquor  (may soak it lightly)

13. After, nicely lie the soaked lady finger (12) into the tuberware.... and spread a layer of cream on it.

14. Mmm... sprinkle some coco power.

15. Repeat for the second layer. After, chill and serve...

Pork ribs and winter melon soup

Had a boring Sunday as I stayed home and do nothing.
Gosh, this make me realised that I really cannot "do nothing".
Driving me crazy.

Anyway, I did dinner for 2 and here's the soup:
400g pork ribs
1 melon, peeled and cut into big chunks
4 red dates
Some wolf berries

It is a simple dish as just have to bring all to boil. And then simmer for about 1 hr.
Add salt to taste before serving.

Margarita @ Dempsey

We wanted to try the PS cafe @ dempsey but it was "super packed".
Ended up at Margarita for "brunch" - kind of weird timing.

The food is pretty decent and the tiramisu is our fav.

Tiramisu - rich taste of coffee, if only they add more rum

Virgin cocktail
Dip with "queso"/cheese
Roast pork and the tiny jalapeno costs extra $4!!!

Soo Kee duck along upper thomson road

Mmm... There's always a queue in this stall whenever we pass-by.
Therefore on this day when there's no queue, we decided to give it a try.
*Heng, we are early because just 10min later, the queue starts to form*

Err... Frankly, I don't find the noodles great but the duck was fresh.
It was alright but I don't think I will spend 30 min queuing for this.
Rather, to be fair - I never like to queue for food, no more than 10min.

So-so noodles, go for the rice instead
Good and reasonable price

Homemade pizza @ Foo's

It may be easy for some to make pizza.. For us.. It was a pass & fail experiment.

One pizza had a chewy crush, the other is thin and crispy.
I think we may have to make a few attempts before "showing off" to friends.

Oh, the escargots - you can get from dempsey and drop them straight into the oven.
Soup of the day: Clam chowder (Campbell, of course).
Also, I love the double brie with truffles... heavenly good!! It will be an ultimate combination if go with some wine.
Foo's kitchen - prosciutto and smoked salmon pizza

I had work from home today (another scan made today), so I took the chance to tidy my home office table.
If you know me - I am definitely not a neat person so this is the best I can get.
Ping's study table & the doggie is the extra companion

Damotory @ Robertson Walk

Korean wave is very HOT now, so we decided to have Korean Ala Cart buffet.. Yeah!!
We had a table full of food before heading out to the "The undead forest" @ Flyer.
Pure ladies talk about holiday, work, men and sex.... Yummy.

Ok, the food... I think it is pretty decent except that I was hoping the seafood pancake will have MORE seafood.

Mix seafood pancake

Beef soya soup

Tuna steak

Mussel soup

Beef salad

Bottom up: Rice wine (looks like soya milk?)

Grilled pork belly.... *guilt*
