Saving enough?

Read an article on why Singaporean is not saving enough.
The 3 main reasons given were:
1. Purchase a property where the monthly loan is more than 30% of the salary;
2. Own one or more cars, and this is probably another 30% of the salary;
3. Don't know how to do invest and make the money grow.
In fact, keeping the money in the saving account is "deflation". (Wow, I didn’t know about this)

Above, make me relook into my financial statue - so pathetic!!
