Muslim and dog

Racer got into trouble!!
He sneaked out of the house when my brother was pushing his bike, and so coincidental that our Muslim neighbor is outside.
Then, all I heard was scream... haiz!

I recalled that my classmate told me that Muslim are not allow to get in contact with dog. Why?

Any way, I have to apologize to the neighbor.
